The BREATH AND MEMBRANE catalog, designed as a folding book, is a sequel to SCORES AND SCULPTURES, published by Distanz Verlag in 2019. It contains two posters folded into booklets and held together by an elastic band to create a fanfold. BREATH AND MEMBRANE presents two of Stella Geppert`s central works: COMMUNICATION CAPTURES (2019) and the INSIDE T cycle (2020/22). Within these works the artist explores empathic connection and energetic states of embodied communication. Breathing is used as a sculptural material to energize the space, and intuitive head movements are recorded immediately by body orthoses.

When Destruction Becomes New Form / Textem - Verlag
The creative act of the destruction of those mass-produced letter trays in the series When Destruction Becomes New Form can not only be understood as an ironic response to the aestheticisation of manufactured goods – this work looks almost like a liberating jab at the epicentre of all things serial.

Ach so, Stella Geppert / Objekte / Installationen / Interventionen / Revolver – Archiv für aktuelle Kunst, Frankfurt am Main
The catalogue covers work Stella Geppert has produced during the past few years. Art photographs appear alongside photographic notes and documentation. As in a sketchbook, the publication conveys an insight into the artist’s way of seeing and working. The loose, layout-free arrangement of the images is a provocative irritation: is this an artistic photograph or the epiction of a work? What has been added by the artist? Where indeed is the work? In accordance with her ephemeral approach, by which the “work of art” is not immediately visible, the question is raised as to the whereabouts of work which is served by photography, and/or from which photography becomes autonomous. Peter Herbstreuth introduces this issue and the artist’s particular way of seeing. Jule Reuter describes the works themselves in a text that is integrated into the pictorial section in the form of small islands.
